Starting from 5th August 2024, any changes to your clients’ VAT registration details need to be made through the Agent Services Account (ASA). The old VAT484 form or other postal and electronic methods are being phased out.

🔑 Key Points from HM Revenue & Customs:

  • Clients must submit changes to their bank account details and email addresses themselves.
  • Using the digital route is quicker, more secure, and helps to avoid delays.
  • HMRC will continue to support those who cannot use digital services with non-digital options, including phone support.
  • For those who are digitally excluded, the VAT484 form can still be requested for specific scenarios.

Updated guidance will be available from August 2024 under ‘Change your VAT registration details.’ https://www.gov.uk/guidance/change-your-vat-registration-details
