As 2025 comes to a close, the global logistics world looks very different from where we started. Cross-border e-commerce has continued to grow at double-digit rates, UK–China trade is recovering from earlier supply chain volatility, and bonded logistics is moving from niche capability to strategic advantage for brands of every size.

Amid that shift, NG Terminal has focused on one goal: to make global trade simpler, faster and more transparent.

This month, we look back at the milestones that shaped our year, the industry forces driving demand for bonded solutions, and what’s next for 2026.

The year at a glance…

A stronger foundation for smarter logistics

If 2024 was a year of rebuilding supply chains, then 2025 was the year many businesses began to scale again.

According to the ONS, UK goods imports rose steadily through the year, with China remaining one of the UK’s top three trading partners. Logistics UK reported that e-commerce-driven imports continued to push warehouse capacity and customs infrastructure to their limits.

That growing pressure has accelerated demand for:

  • Bonded capacity, especially near major airports
  • Digital customs and inventory visibility
  • Deferred duty models that protect cash flow
  • Integrated platforms that streamline compliance

NG Terminal’s 2025 investments – new warehouse capacity, MyNGT enhancements, and the launch of HURIX – were built around those needs.

Key moments that defined our 2025…

Expanding our bonded footprint

Early this year, we opened our new 25,000 sq. ft. Heathrow bonded facility, giving customers a secure, customs-efficient gateway into the UK market. This expansion has supported rising import volumes from Asia and helped retailers reduce time-to-market while maintaining full compliance.

Stepping into the spotlight with industry partners

From Las Vegas to Shenzhen to London, NG Terminal took part in key logistics and retail events alongside IDX.

Across Manifest: The Future of Supply Chain & Logistics 2025, OPENeX, China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Supply Chain Fair , Parcel+Post Expo in Amsterdam, and the Retail Supply Chain & Logistics Expoat ExCeL London, we shared our bonded model with thousands of retailers, marketplaces and logistics leaders.

Common themes across every event:

  • Retailers want bonded fulfilment to reduce VAT and duty burdens.
  • Marketplaces with multi-seller networks need real-time customs transparency.
  • Compliance risk is rising, especially for excise and high-value goods.
  • Technology  (not manual case-by-case clearance) will define the next competitive edge.

Smarter tools for cross-border trade…

MyNGT: More clarity, less friction

This year, retailers saw firsthand howMyNGTis changing the rhythm of international logistics:

  • Live customs clearance updates
  • Bonded inventory tracking
  • Deferred duty and VAT threshold alerts
  • Integrated workflows for excise, T1 and returns

As supply chains become more fragmented, the need for a single digital window has become non-negotiable.

DHL’s latest Global Trade Indexreports that digital visibility tools are now one of the top three investment areas for e-commerce-led supply chains. MyNGT is our answer to that shift – and in 2026, it will evolve into a more automated, AI-supported platform designed for speed, accuracy and control.

HURIX: Unlocking value through smarter creator-product matching

Launched at CILF Shenzhen, HURIX is a next-generation platform designed to connect global goods owners with the right KOLs and KOCs,  based on genuine audience fit, not vanity metrics.

HURIX intelligently matches products to creators whose audiences already align with the right product, allowing influencers to discover relevant products quickly, activate collaborations instantly, and monetise without friction. At the same time, it enables products anywhere in the world to reach the most suitable creators without slow negotiations, geographic limitations, or inefficient partnerships.

By removing traditional barriers between products and creators, HURIX helps both sides capitalise on opportunities faster and at scale.

For products and platforms, this means:

  • Access to creators with proven audience relevance
  • Faster activation of campaigns across markets
  • Reduced reliance on manual outreach and negotiation
  • Better performance driven by real alignment, not follower counts

For creators, it means:

  • Easier discovery of relevant products
  • Instant collaboration opportunities
  • A clearer path to monetisation without operational friction

HURIX reflects a broader shift in global commerce: moving beyond inventory and logistics alone, toward smarter, data-led connections that help products reach the right markets (and the right audiences) more efficiently.

Industry trends shaping the 2026 logistics landscape…

2026 will bring more complexity, not less – but also more opportunity for businesses with the right infrastructure.

AI-driven customs and compliance

HMRC’s work on CDS automationand the wider adoption of digital declarations are paving the way for faster, more structured compliance workflows. Agentic AI systems will help eliminate repetitive tasks, reduce manual errors and speed up document processing – something we’re already designing into MyNGT.

Continued pressure on warehouse capacity

Logistics UK expects UK warehousing demand to grow again in 2026, driven by Asian exporters and marketplace sellers scaling into Europe. Bonded sites close to airports and parcel hubs will be particularly valuable.

The rise of bonded fulfilment as a retail growth strategy

What was once used mainly for high-value imports is now becoming mainstream. With margins tightening across e-commerce, the ability to defer duty, respond quickly and manage compliance centrally will be a competitive advantage.

NG Terminal is positioned to support that shift with AEO-certified, ETSF-approved operations and bonded solutions built around visibility and speed.
