📢 Important Update from the Bonded Warehousekeepers Association (BWA)!
The The Bonded Warehousekeepers Association (BWA) has shared some important news about tracking and tracing tobacco products in the UK, starting from 20th May 2024. Here’s what you need to know:
🔹 What’s Changing?
·The UK’s track and trace system, currently for cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco, will be extended to include other tobacco products (OTP) like cigars, cigarillos, pipe tobacco, and waterpipe tobacco.
·To give businesses more time to adapt, HMRC will temporarily not enforce compliance for OTP for up to 14 months. This aims to create a strong system to tackle illicit tobacco trade.
🔹 What You Need to Do
·Keep preparing to meet the track and trace requirements. HM Revenue & Customs will support businesses throughout this transition.
