Total active container ships: 6,825 (Up by 34 from January 11, 2024).
Global operational capacity: 28,911,776 TEU (Increased by 280,775 TEU).
Combined tonnage: 343,714,557 deadweight tons.

🏆 Top 20 Shipping Companies:
Among the top 20 global shipping companies, notable changes have occurred in rankings:

Sea Lead Shipping from Singapore climbed from 18th to an impressive 16th position.

HDS LINE and UniFeeder from Iran both slipped by one spot to 17th and 18th, respectively.

SINOKOR and Zhonggu Logistic exchanged positions, securing 19th and 20th places.📈

Operational Capacities:
Compared to the previous month, several major shipping companies have experienced growth in operational capacities:

Mediterranean Shipping witnessed the highest increase, with a growth of 54,449 TEU despite a reduction in the number of vessels by 2.

CMA CGA surged with an additional 47,793 TEU and 9 more operational vessels.

Maersk expanded its total capacity by 45,126 TEU, deploying an additional 7 vessels.

ZIM added 36,402 TEU to its operational capacity, accompanied by 4 new vessels.

Hapag-Lloyd recorded an impressive growth of 34,972 TEU, deploying 7 more operational ships.

📉 Decreases in Capacities:
However, some companies experienced reductions:

Zhonggu Logistic faced a decline of 5,931 TEU in total capacity, with 3 fewer operational vessels.

SITC International saw a decrease of 2,757 TEU and 2 operational vessels.

🚢 Newbuilds Highlights:
The spotlight in newbuilds is on Ocean Network Express (ONE), which increased its newbuild capacity by 148,836 TEU and added 11 new vessels. On the contrary, Maersk reported a decrease of 18,537 TEU in newbuild capacity.
